The Call of Duty 2023 release would be a full game and a continuation of the rebooted sequel Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II from the previous year. According to Bloomberg, the game is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, the makers behind Call of Duty: Vanguard. Infinity Ward, the company behind the Modern Warfare series, will handle supervision.

Earlier, the game was intended to expand MW2 with single-player and multiplayer content significantly. However, it has now become a full flagged game release. The upcoming game will also carry some content from Modern Warfare II.

Moreover, the report stated that there would be a completely new Call of Duty in which the series would switch between Modern Warfare and Black Ops games with two years of support.

According to documents from the Activision data breach dated December 2022, Call of Duty 2024, codenamed Cerberus, the game could be published on consoles from previous generations. It was initially thought that Call of Duty 2023 would be the last game released for the previous generation. But the new information alludes to the possibility of at least one more. However, remember that the details of the data breach may have changed since it was made public on Twitter.

On a similar note, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II launched its Ranked Play earlier this month, adhering to the same guidelines as the Call of Duty League (CDL). It includes Eight new skill categories, unlocked weaponry, a 4v4 format, and the option to team up with other players in and around your skill category.
