WhatsApp has been working on various new features to add, and WhatsApp calling shortcut is the latest one that has appeared in WhatsApp Beta.
On the latest WhatsApp Beta for Android, version 2.23.3.15, WABetaInfo discovered that WhatsApp is working on this new feature. The screenshot of it is given below:
As you can see from the screenshot, you can create a new calling shortcut by tapping and holding the contact from the Calls menu.
After creating a shortcut, it will be added to your home screen automatically. You can initiate a WhatsApp call to the set contact by clicking on the shortcut directly from your home screen.
However, in its current form, the WhatsApp calling shortcut feature isn’t complete yet. It would be available in a future update of WhatsApp Beta.
Pinned Messages
WhatsApp is also working on Pinned Messages feature for chats. This is also spotted by WABetaInfo as an unfinished feature. For group chats and personal chats, you can pin various messages now.
Until now, you could only pin a WhatsApp chat. This feature should bring the pinned messages feature in Telegram to Android.
It’s currently available in WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.23.3.17. As you can see from the screenshot, you will be notified if someone Pinned a message in a chat. It will show an update to the latest WhatsApp version to use the feature.
