POCO F5 will launch soon in India. A tweet released by Snapdragon India confirms that the handset will be equipped with the most powerful Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 chipset. To recall, the chipset was first seen on the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which debuted in March in China. Rumours are rife that the same device will be rebranded as the POCO F5 in the Indian market.

The POCO F5 series includes two models, the POCO F5 and the POCO F5 Pro. Recent reports have claimed that India will receive only the POCO F5. The F5 Pro, which is expected to arrive as a tweaked version of China’s Redmi K60, will not be released in India, but will be available in other markets.

POCO F5 to feature the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2

The Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2, which will power the POCO F5, is the most potent 7-series chip from Qualcomm. It has a prime Cortex-A710 core working at 2.91GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores operating at 2.49GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores clocking at 1.8GHz. The SoC also includes the Adreno 725 GPU and comes with support for LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Here is a look at the expected specifications of the POCO F5.

A recent tweet by POCO India head, Himanshu Tandon, hinted that the POCO F5 will arrive in two options: 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. Another report revealed that it would arrive in three shades, such as black, white, and blue.

It is expected that the POCO F5 phone will have a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ display that produces a 120Hz refresh rate. The Android 13 OS and MIUI 14 will be preinstalled on the phone, which will also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security purposes.

The Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2-powered POCO F5 will have a 5,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. As for its camera system, it will feature a 16-megapixel front camera and a rear camera setup comprising a 64-megapixel primary camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide snapper, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.

The POCO F5 may debut in May. The device is likely to be priced at around Rs 30,000 in India.
