Samsung Galaxy Glasses and a Galaxy Ring could be in the works. The South Korean tech giant has been granted trademarks for both by KIPRIS (Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service) on February 23rd, 2023. The trademark application has descriptions for both products but no information on their technical specifications.

Samsung Galaxy Glasses, Galaxy Ring: What to expect?
The trademark filing reveals that the Galaxy Glasses are a “headset for virtual reality experiences.” It is also described as “smart glasses.” According to rumours, Samsung’s XR device, which appears to be the Galaxy Glasses, will compete with Apple’s upcoming AR headset.
The Galaxy Glasses is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm chipset and may run on Android’s version for wearables. The South Korean company is also said to be working with Meta and Microsoft on the XR project.
To recall, Samsung entered the VR headset market in 2015 but abandoned the project after launching a few Gear VR models. The South Korean company is reportedly working on refining the software experience on its XR device. This would allow it to rival Apple in the XR market in the coming years.
In the trademark documents, the Galaxy Ring is described as a “smart device for measuring health indicators and/or sleep in the form of [a] ring.” A report that surfaced in October 2022 revealed that the company is working on a smart ring that can monitor the health and activities of the user.
Samsung’s next major launch event is likely to take place in August. The event may see the arrival of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. It remains to be seen whether the company announces the Galaxy Glasses and Galaxy Ring on the same platform.
