Renowned Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu has gained popularity across the country for its diverse range of premium and gaming smartphones. In a recent announcement, the company confirmed its entry into the foldable smartphone market by the end of 2023. In a recent development, an enigmatic patent of the Meizu clamshell phone has surfaced on China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) website, unveiling the foldable mechanism of the device.

The sketches in the patent suggest that the Meizu foldable phone will feature a clamshell design similar to the Galaxy Z Flip series. The handset is tipped to arrive with two displays one will be the tall flexible panel, and another will be the cover display. Besides, there is no clear information about the design aspects of the phone or where the company is planning to accommodate the rear camera modules.
The patent listing suggests that the Meizu is still in the very early stages of developing the forthcoming foldable smartphone. Considering that we can safely expect to get more information about the Meizu foldable as we move closer to the launch.

Leaks suggest that the Pro models might make use of a 10-bit Samsung E6 LTPO AMOLED panel that offers a refresh rate of 120Hz and 1440p resolution. The smartphone is also tipped to pack a 50MP main camera and get a juice pack of 5,000mAh with support for 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
